Update: Support E-Mails and Unexplained Glitch Monday, November 25, 2002

After updating to the latest DirectX the problem still appears. This leads me to believe there may be a problem between WindowsXP and the latest Detonator Drivers. I'll keep you posted if I am able to resolve this problem.

On support e-mail questions. Support is for the full version of Cubic Feet. The demo version is not supported, and no e-mails should be sent on the demo version. I ask that you reference the order number, and upon verification I will supply support. A couple people have already asked questions, and because I did not mention that it was for registered users only, I am answering their questions. This does not mean the demo is supported, this means that these individuals had no means of knowing whether or not the demo version was supported. My apologies.

Update: Smaller Download & Known Glitch Sunday, November 24, 2002

I have compressed the sound and music in the demo version of Cubic Feet to allow for a smaller, faster download of the program. The sound and music are still great in the free demo, you'll hardly notice it. I needed to do this, becuase I realised how restricted my badwidth is on tripod and there doesn't seem to be an easy way around it, except to get a more expensive host, which is out of the question for the moment.

Also, in the process of updating the display drivers and service packs on Windows XP there seems to be an issue that anyone with this game should be aware of. I have noticed this in other titles using DirectX in a 2D fashion. This game requires DirectX 8.1. With this version of DirectX and the Detonator Drivers for the nVidia TNT2 Display adaptor, there appears to be an annoying flicker, which almost seems like the back buffer of the screen is a bit out of alignment only once in a while. This is not a problem specific to this game, but a problem specific, as far as I can tell to the combination of hardware, software, and drivers. Some games are affected by this problem, while others are not. I'm looking at a newer version of DirectX 8.1 (8.1b) which may resolve the problem. Keep tuned for future updates right here!

If this is affecting you, please let me know, and please send me details of your system configuration, so I can get an idea of when this appears. I do not think it is a problem with my game, because other titles appear to be affected, but I do want to see how many individuals are experiencing the same problem I am. I could be the only one experiencing this problem, becuase there's something buggy on my system, but without feedback, I'll never know.
